Take a Minute to Think.

So Im on Pinterest this morning and I come across this saying:
and I was kinda taken back.. I'm not one to read things and sit and ponder on them a while, however this caught me off guard.. So often I catch myself saying well if I did this or changed this than maybe I could afford that.. Now, let me start out by saying I had a very fortunate childhood, where pretty much everything I wanted I got.. I wore the name brand clothes, shoes, carried the expensive purses etc..my mom went out of her way to make sure I had it all.. (and still does)  and then came to where I was no longer under mama and daddy's roof.. Money went scarce for a while lol.. and I can often remember times when I blurted out.. Lord if i was just rich, or could marry a rich man I would be set.. (of course I was being sarcastic).. but still the idea was nice.. and as I got older (I'm 30 now :( yikes) I have come to realize that money is so not important.. Yes you need it to survive, but don't need it to be happy.. Being a kid one of your initial questions seeing your parents after a trip to town is "what did you get me" or "if i go can i get something"...Now, not so much, I often feel broke more than feel like I have money, yet I am surrounded by an amazing family, and a handful of best friends.. When most people are down and feel the need to go "shop" and buy things to make them feel better, a simple conversation with my mama, or my best friend makes me feel complete.  Money as I learned cannot buy happiness, it can buy things that make you smile, but soon enough you will get bored with those things as well.. Having a family and close friends that when you see them you light up, and embrace them with a hug.. and catch up over dinner.. or reminisce about good times.. Now that is priceless.. and something even money cant buy.

Next came this quote:
After that, NO EXPLANATION IS NEEDED.

Ranger Game

TEXAS RANGERS... LOVE THEM!!!

With that being said, my dad sent me a text message saying he was goign to carry my little brother to the game and asked if I wanted to go.. hmmmmm let me think about that.. DUH!! For starters.. Who wouldnt want to watch/stare/drool at these two fellas:
I know that I dont mind..AT ALL...So Saturday I got to Dads around 1:00 and headed off to the ballgame.. And for those that know Dallas, knows what it entails... Yep you guessed it.. what would Dallas be without..

TRAFFIC.... and I hatttttteeeee TRAFFIC!!! I am one with somewhat borderline patience with most things.. yet Traffic I have NONE!!! and whats worse is I gripe and complain about it, and then I was in a vehicle with my dad and my 8 yr old brother who were also just as impatient as me :) so NOT a good combination..I am also a "passenger driver" and was constantly saying Dad your too close to wall, or dad get over or dad this.. So next time Ill drive.. Well once we got through the traffice we arrived at the ballpark around 2:30 (the gates opened at 5)  so we went to eat at On the Border, to grab some appetizers and hang out a bit before the game...

We should have stayed in there a tad longer.... cause once we got to the ballpark.. it was a heck of a walk to the stadium..
and Cade was looking like he was about to passssss smooth out.. SERIOUSLY.. like Heat Stroke.. His poor face went pink!!! and he kept saying his stomach hurt, and was sweating like crazy.. so I went to pouring water on him, his head, etc trying to cool him off.. Once I got him cooled off I tried to make him sit in the shade, and that was borderline impossible as one.. there was hardly any shade.. and two hes 8.. they dont sit still..  a guy walked buy selling programs/anniversary yearbook.. and so 20.00 later.. He was sitting still in the shade reading..
Once cooled off, and finally in the stadium entrance, he started getting a normal color :) with soaking wet hair, and a bandanna Thanks to Dad saturated in water..  He was so excited to have gotten a Banner to hold..you would have thought that he won the lottery.. He was like "Sissy they are just giving us stuff..
Once in our seats, watching them hit the ball around, we just started cooling off, and Cade decides hes hungry.. So we go trucking up to get some food.. He eats a ballpark hotdog of course..get back to the seats, and Dad has loaded up on cotton candy of all things..
Finally settled in , we began to watch the Rangers..... LoSe..

After being in the heat and i mean 102 heat.. (thats dedication) we had about enough, and the fact that they were losing, wasnt helping.. annnnd Cade wasnt feeling too swift we decided to go ahead and make our way out of the park, and possibly beat the stampede as well.. But not before stopping to pose with Nolan Ryan..

Finally back out to the truck, all unloaded with all the "free" junk and goodies from the gift shop we headed back to the casa!!! It was a fun evening get away, and Loved spending time with the little bro.. Already planning another trip when my other brother can make it as well.. They say a picture can be worth a thousand words.. so Needless to say I think this picture below sums it all up:

First and Foremost.. Me & My Family...

Okay so remember when I said I will be back tracking.. Well let this post serve as "Back track No. 1"..with of course some pics a "tad" out dated...For those who know me, know that I am extremely family oriented.. My family is my life.. Even at the times when I cant stand to be around them.. I would still do anything for them.. SO THIS POST WILL CONSIST OF MY FAMILY BRAGGING RIGHTS :

 My MaMa
This woman, hands down is the BEST!! She is my backbone, my "go-to" person, my Best Friend, my Mentor, but most of all my MAMA.. I have to admit the best compliment I have ever received is being told "your just like your mama" or "you are your mothers child".. I couldn't think of a better person to be compared to.. Between me and my brother we have put this woman through all kinds of sheninagans, and not one time has she ever give up, or lost faith in us.. She has stood not behind, but beside us when all others have turned on us.  She has taught us to believe in ourselves, and to stand up for what we believe in.  She is one of the most strongest people I have ever known, especially mentally.. She has of course that " mothers intuition" but more powerful :).  She allows us to make mistakes to better our self, and to learn, and yet when we feel like we have failed, she is there to pick us up and set us straight. Or to tell us to SNAP OUT OF IT, and get over it.. She is the type of person, that we can get so mad at each other, and then 5 minutes later, im calling her to ask her a question lol. I can only hope that one day im 1/2 the person she is to us when I have kids, and 1/2 the person she is to everyone else.. She puts everyone elses needs before hers.. Shes amazing!!! .......................Next to her is Shawn... aka "Diddy" lol. Shawn is my moms fiance, they have been together F--O--R--E--V--E--R!! Shawn is perfect for my mom, couldn't ask for anyone better.. He treats her with the up most respect that she deserves, and is by far one of the most considerate people I know.. Shawn has stepped up and helped out in many situations more than once, and I couldn't be happier to have him as a part of our family.

I have 2 wonderful brothers.. Im the oldest (30 years young) and then I have a 24 year old brother Lincoln...

Lincoln I have to admit is the one who can make all emotions: angry, happy, sad, confused run through my head at any given point in time.. In many ways we are a lot alike, and therefore we tend to agree/disagree a LOT of the times.. However, he is who I would call and consider my Hero.. Im sure some may ask "What has he done, or how has he helped you"?  Well, truth be told, Ive never really been in an emergency situation where he acted as a "Hero" by definition.. But he is.. He is also someone who I admire.  He has overcome so many obstacles in his life, and has never given up.. He is stubborn and hard headed..(just like me), but doesn't back down to anyone (where I usually speak my mind and walk away, or better yet bite my tongue.) Lincoln has given up alot for others, and would do anything for anyone of his friends, or family. Hes been let down by several, but has never let that keep him from moving on.. You have to work to gain Lincolns trust, but once you get it, its good as gold. If he says he will do something he will.  Hes one of the most honest people I know, and what you see is what you get.. He is in true form the saying "It is what it is".. If he tells you something, you can take it to the bank.. He doesn't mean to hurt your feelings or what not, but if he tells you something, then you can believe it, whether it hurts or not..Hes one of the only men in my life that hasn't betrayed me.. The love I have for this kid is strong, hes my brother, and nothing is important to me as the bond between a brother and sister........

Then, I have an 8yr old half brother..Cade... and this lil boy has my heart..

He is one that can make me laugh by just looking at me.. He is a jokester, he likes to laugh, dance, sing, and just be crazy.. He keeps me on my toes.. and honestly he brings so much joy to my life.. not to mention he is a great excuse to go watch a kid movie, or go bowling or go do something fun.. cause then I can say " Oh im taking cade here or there " :) He not only is a good polite kid.. But he is as smart as can be.. He must get that from me DUH! and better yet hes still at the age where I can get a good hug from him without having to tackle and try and hold him down to get one ..ahem (Lincoln).. But I couldn't ask for 2 better brothers.. I wouldnt trade them even if I Could.. So all in all..

Those boys right there.. are the BEST
The Dad

Sorry first of all for not having a pic of Daddy... yet (I thought I had all my ducks in a row) yet I cant seem to locate my other camera card at the moment so a pic of him will be uploaded soon.. But in the mean time.. I am a Daddys girl.. Just like my mama, but a Daddys girl.. No matter how old I get I will forever be a Daddy's girl..Ive learned alot about what to do and what not to do, and what type of guy I want and deserve by being a Daddys girl..We have had our ups and downs, and arguments along the way, as any family does, but this man like mom, is one I cant stay mad at even if paid to.. and trust me at times Ive tried really really hard..  Our Dads are responsible for half of our genetic makeup, and our relationship with them plays a huge part of who we will become. Many people grow up without ever knowing their fathers, and that to me is sad, because fathers should play as important a role in raising their kids as a mom does. A father is the model of a man for his daughter and whom she will compare to when choosing a man to marry, and a role model for his sons. So no matter where I go, or whose last name I carry on.. I will always be a WOODS..and forever a DADDYS GIRL..

and last but not least.. CHEVY...

This peeping tom right here is my lil furry love.. His name is Chevy and he is my boxer.. He is the most kind, and loving puppy EVERRRR!!!! He has bark but NO SUCH Bite.. However, we have come to notice he doesnt take too well to guys .. AT ALL.. and that at times could be a good thing :) Okay I think I have listed about all I can for the time being on my family... and Ill be uploading pics soon after this weekends trip to watch the RANGERS!!!

First Time for Everything....

Okay.... For starters, as computer savy as I may be, this whole blogging is definitely not my area of expertise... So bare with me as I attempt/tackle a new task!  I have been wanting to "blog" for quiet some time now, however.. never really set aside the time to figure it all out.. I deleted facebook a while back and since then all these pictures I have accumulated over the last year or so are patiently sitting on my camera/phone... Most people would say stick in a scrapbook, yea right.. I have patience.. but not that much, and the tedious attention and detail that a scrapbook requires is soooo not happening.. Megan, my brothers girlfriend has a blog, and I enjoy looking at hers and seeing what they have been doing, as well as cracking up at some of her post.. She and I have gone on some adventures over the last year and while her pictures are posted on her blog, mine are where.... yes still on the camera/phone.. So I woke up this morning and decided today would be the day to start my blog.. and yes Megan was the first person I contacted on how/when to do this.. So im sure once I get together with her this weekend or next week I will have a better understanding on how this stuff works...So if my blog starts "rockin" you will know that I had the help from this girl right here..
That is Megan (the person whom Im sure will give credit to my amazing blog to..aka.. My brother Lincolns girlfriend)..I find it funny that as Im sitting here typing, we are emailing and she just said "so whats your address".. hmmmm let me get right on finding out where that is located at.. LOL.. So as you can see, this will be quite an adventure..  and backward posting from a year ago or more as I upload new pics etc...so bare with me :)
